Ok, Murphies and friends. Make comments. Don't leave me out here all alone. For those of you who care about such things, Mom and I replayed JT's SSB to start the game off right. While he played, we stood and put our right hands over our hearts. A stirring beginning.
The Sox will lose tonight. Fogg will be tough, and Matzusaka will nibble and leave after five.

Carrie Underwood looks better than she sings. I don't like her pronounciations, though I'm glad she didn't mess with the melody too much. I missed JT the other night.
Dice-K's gonna struggle. Papi's gonna run out of breath rounding 2nd after a HR, and at least two balls will soar over Manny's head. Love that thin air.
Oh, and I just re-read the original post. That's very dorky.
We are nothing if not dorks. Especially Mom.
Here's James, Caleb. He misses a note or two, muffs a word ("might" instead of "night") and sounds older than he used to, but still manages to make it more moving than any version I've heard in a while.

As for standing with our hands over our hearts, Dad's the only dork who did THAT. I am not standing any more than I can help after running over my own bare foot with an unbelievably heavy piano leg while Dad and I were putting the piano back in the family room last night. Moving a piano without shoes on is a Bad Idea.
Jesus $%#$ing Christ. The dumbing down of baseball continues. The two keys to the game for Josh Fogg, a pitcher who a large chunk of the viewing audience has never seen pitch? "Beats good teams" and "Has lots of heart." Tell me what he throws, how to hit him, his 2007 stats, or even the names and birthdays of his children, but don't tell me he has heart.
Beats good teams is meaningless too, of course. Who'd he beat, and when? Did he pitch well, or did the Rockies score 11? Do you even know, Fox?
You suck.
Not to beat a dead horse, but if you go back and watch the 2004 playoffs, the pre-game keys contained actual information. They've stopped providing information in the subsequent years. It's more about stories now. I blame Captain Heart himself, David Eckstein.
World's goin' to hell in a handbasket, Caleb.
The big guns are silent.
Do they allow fans to wave signs around behind the catcher? It's very annoing and I've never seen it before.
Dice-K is nibbling.
Nice play,
Dice-K.
Dice-K pitches better than he bats.
This is gonna be a good game.
Wasn't DK a position player at one Time?
It is gonna be a good game.
Popcorn time.
Well he's been a star pitcher since he was 20 or so, but I think before that he played a little outfield.
Anybody know if Luke is alive? Hasn't been heard from for a couple of games.
Manny was safe, but at this rate it's really not gonna matter.
I take it all back, Dice-K.
I take it all back, Dice-K. Is there anything he can't do?
So...the Rockies are kinda brutal.
Actually, Manny was out. He was tagged on the hip just before Manny touched the plate with his hand. He just may have been called out for the wrong reason.
Whoa, Dice-K>
Caleb, what do you mean, "brutal"?
really quite bad.
...in the parlance of our times.
Well, I was wrong about this game. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
A dork again.
But now I get it.
3chers and catchers and a half months until pitchers and catchers report.
Whoops. I mean. Three and a half months until pitchers and catchers report.
I was thinking. If the Yankees offer Arod a big new contract, maybe they could make it even bigger if Arod agreed not to play in the postseason.
I guess we were right after all.
Caleb, I don't like Carrie Underwood's voice at all. I think she is a shouter. I always say that, and no one agrees with me. I think its just cause no ones got no taste.
Uh oh, looks like we've got some draaaamaa.
Can someone give me a score? I can't get to a TV.
Edit: I know it was 6-0 after three innings, but after that...?
Spongy, Colorado scored 2 in the sixth and 3 in the seventh to make it 6-5. But now it's the 8th and it's 9-5 at the moment with two out.
Popple-ban?!?
Popple?!?
ban?
Ban Popples Now!
Sorry we didn't chime in last night but we had an old person and his lovely wife visiting and it took all our energy to convince the old person to stay up for the last 3 innings. Don was glad he did though. Then he drove Judy to NYC this morning and he's coming back for another go at it here tonight. Hope he stays awake. Maybe we'll need to make popcorn too.
