Al Gore: Nobel Prize Laureate

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21262661/

We live in a world that worships and praises fools, idiots, and con-men. Truly intelligent and individual thinkers are dubbed "controversial." As H.L. Mencken wrote, "The most costly of all follies is to believe passionately in the palpably not true. It is the chief occupation of mankind."

Luckily there are still people like Julian Simon out there. It's a bit old but it still mostly applies to the current situation.

Makes ya wanna scream, don' it?

Sadly, Julian Simon isn't out there anymore. Adtually, he's "out there" somewhere. His death was a huge loss.

Meanwhile, Jay Richards at Planet Gore says:

Keeping to the trend of politicized awards, the Nobel Peace Prize has been given jointly to Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. In his initial statement, however, Gore explains that global warming isn't a political issue at all: "The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level."

Glad he cleared that up. I had been thinking it had something to do with science.

I don't know I think I've gotten over screaming about these kind of things. Now I just laugh instead.
