Pictures from States

There are a whole bunch of pictures from States posted on the Sherburne-Earlville website here, including shots taken during the skit and some great ones from the award ceremony. Here are a few of them.

Bless "Mom" for posting these and linking them, and Luke for his sooooooo happy face, and Laura for wearing that wonderful color on her -- she looks dazzling.

In the top picture, Anna is laughing very evily, probably because she made the girl next to her eat something bad.

Also, whats with the sprinting across the gym? Is that how it's done in States, now? In my day, there was a stage.

This is also a good picture. It looks like the first one after the announcement.

Yup, I think that one was taken just as the announcement was given. Mr. Sherry is quick with a camera! As for sprinting across the gym, there's a new arena at SUNY Binghamton now called the Event Center (or something like that) where they hold the closing ceremonies these days. It's big enough to hold everybody at one time so the ceremonies aren't split between two gyms any more. The background in these two shots will give you something of a feel for what it's like:

Yeah, I love 161, too -- Laura, Bryan and Anna look even happier than the team, or at least what you can see of the team.

Mr. Sherry may be quick with a camera, but something has to be done about the red eye.

How was the sound in the new gym? Remember last year, we could hear conversations of people in the restrooms more clearly than from the OM announcers?

The red eye was a problem with my pictures, too. Or white eye. Either way, it wasn't good.

The sound was a bit better where we sat this year -- around the corner from last year's spot and up the side a little way -- but still not great. The speakers seem to be too small for the space.

Do ya think she made her eat something bad, or do ya think that she told her something that made her vomit?

I think we should ask Anna.
