Europe Pictures-Santorini 2

Kendra and I rode donkeys up that treacherous terrain. Never again.
Santorini and the Old Port from the boat.
We saw the Parthenon, and I was underwhelmed.
Keira up on the hill with Athens in the background. Athens is a weird city.

You rode donkeys? What?

Yes we did. The path from Fira down to the Old Port is a zig-zag path of steps that is not very wide. It takes about half an hour to get down, even though you aren't going a far distance. This is partially because the people riding up the path on donkeys can't control them, and you have to cling to the wall for fear of being trampled by the donkeys. Also, once the donkeys get their loads to the top, they are shuttled back down to the bottom in herds. The herds move as quickly as possible without any regard for your feet. It is pretty scary.
Considering how long it took to get down, I don't even want to think about getting back up. So we took a donkey. It was terrifying, but you only live once.
