Study Abroad.

So, a lot of my friends want to study abroad. Trinity College in Ireland to be exact. We were all thinking about going at the same time (cause that would be easiest, considering how we're going to be living together so if we are all gone, we wont lose an apartment or suite or whatever). I'd really like to go the fall of my Junior year. What do you guys think?

What do you want to study?

I am a big fan of studying abroad if it can be arranged, because it's an opportunity to get to know another country in a way you never will as a tourist. Ireland is a good idea because there wouldn't be language issues, and besides you have some family heritage there. So, I say, go for it, as long as you can get the courses you need at Trinity. And it would definitely be fun to do it with friends!

A broad. Some woman, apparently.

Laura, I always kinda regretted not going abroad, but I wanted to get the most out of Amherst while I was there, and didn't think I'd be able to afford a semester abroad. Trinity is somewhere I would have liked to go, though. I think you should absolutely be trying to go abroad, but don't pigeonhole yourself into doing it with your friends. It would be a good way to do things economically speaking, but you'll get the most out of the experience if you're not entirely connected to your U.S. life. Plus, by then you might really want some time away from the people that you'll be living with for the next year or two, believe it or not. Consider applying to some abroad programs on your own in addition to trinity with your friends. If you go to Ireland I'll come visit.
