thought chris was pretty good. he finally broke the mold and sang "what a wonderful world." Not the strongest performance, but he won't be going anywhere.
Chris is not musically my favorite, as a rule, but I loved his performance tonight. He may not have the best voice of the bunch, but he connects with the audience like nobody else.
I am worried about Elliott but I think Ace is the one most likely to go home this week.
I agree with you, Laura, I loved the music they did this week. The songs were beautiful, the voices had a chance to soar, and it was a treat to hear actual singing rather than just belting. So many of them could win!
Caleb, you really think Kellie is going home? I bet she won't because 1. That was a great pink dress, and 2. She was very disarming, admitting that she "butchered" the song and agreeing with the judges' criticisms, and 3. She has a lot of fans and might get quite a sympathy vote out of tonight.
With Rod, it was all about Rod. Not aging gracefully. In contrast, Barry Manilow was a class act. Queen and Kenny Rogers are just above Rod. Stevie W. was somewhere below Barry. That's the consensus here.
Even though I haven't seen every song ever sung on American Idol, I have to say, Kellie's performance was probably the worst performance at this point in the competition ever. I can't help but like her though. Although I would not vote for Kellie, I'm glad it was Ace that went and not her.
The best performances last night were Paris, Katherine, and Taylor. Taylor was the only performance that I could find absolutely nothing wrong with. Katherine got a little pitchy, but when you're singing that sort of ballad with lots of sustained notes, it is just about impossible to sing every one of them on pitch. Paris was superb, but she seemed sort of emotionally disconnected from the song.
Chris made me like him a ton more than I already did. That's one of the all-time best songs ever and his version showed a lot of taste. It also showed that he has great respect for genres of music other than hard rock, which many modern "rockers" don't have. He really strikes me as a nice, honest guy.

She's not my favorite, though.
Can we vote Rod Stewart off?
Here in Earlville, we voted him awful.

Paris was "stylizing".
She topped the show.
