Funniest anniversary card ever . . .

. . . or the most appropriate, anyway. From Scott and Judi -- who else?

Nice, very nice.

Cassie, are you going to judge OM again this coming season?

Note: I already posted this comment but it had a typo that bothered me, so I rewrote it.

It's that editing training you're getting in your internship, Lucy -- you'll never be able to leave a typo alone again!

Yes, I think I probably will judge OM again, though I haven't yet responded to Erika's e-mail to say so. Will you?

Yes, I think I will.

And actually, I don't do much editing at all for the internship. I did at the beginning when I was working on the Writer's Guide, but now my bosses are trying to get me to not pay attention to grammar. When I read proposals, I tend to immediately want to reject them if I see more than one grammar mistake. However, my bosses say that I shouldn't pay as much attention to that, because we don't want to miss out on a great idea just because the author isn't a grammar wiz.

Humph. I'm with you, Lucy -- if somebody is careless enough to make more than one grammar mistake in a proposal sent to a publisher, the possibility that the person has a really great idea or will be capable of making that idea into a good book is vanishingly small.

I'll probably judge with you.
