SE Basketball

Here's Wilson Rose (University of Rochester, Class of 2011) going for the basket during last night's sectional game against Jordan-Elbridge, and here's a very brief article about it in today's Evening Sun. The final score, if I correctly remember, was 69-41, making S-E 21-0. I went to the game and had a good time watching them play -- Wilson and John Pinney make quite the duo. We'll see what happens next. Friday night they play . . . (dunh dunh DUNH) . . . Marcellus.

They haven't played Marcellus before. They did play and beat Westhill, the team that Marcellus defeated in sectionals in order to make it to this round against SE.

Hey, I am judging in OM Regionals tomorrow with Lucy and Judi! Also, Luke and Anna are coming home to go to Regionals -- right, Luke and Anna?

Yes we are! We'll be home tonight very late like around 11.

And did we ever judge -- all on the Classics problem! Still working at it after the awards ceremony started, both because of our long schedule of teams and a sticky issue which came up.

Cassie judged the long-term solutions, I crunched the numbers, Lucy's college friend was a style judge, and Lucy was the Timer/Announcer -- appropriate for her directive style -- "In case of fire, LEAVE by one of the 3 exits".

Fun but intense day!

Heard a rumor S-E did very well, but do not know any details.

I have griped forever about OM judges who can't speak with volume and authority in front of a roomful of people. Cassie says Lucy was the OM judge/announcer of my dreams. I can believe it.

Sadly, the S-E basketball team was trounced. I hope they don't take it too hard.

Besides losing, the other disappointing thing about the game was that there weren't any SE cheerleaders to do my favorite cheer.
