On Veteran's Day
My grandfather, Sebastian Justin Frey, in World War I, which ended at 11:00 a.m. on November 11, 1918. He was born in 1892, so he would have been somewhere between 22 and 26 in this picture.
My cousin Mary-Claire commented that she found my Great-Grandfather Sebastian Frey's citizenship papers, dated about 20 years before this picture was taken. She wonders what it was like for him to watch his sons go off to fight the Germans barely two decades after he gave up his German citizenship.
