American Idol Reaction

Elliott came up BIG tonight. I thought the first one was excellent, and then he sang the second one and was really incredible. Makes the voting for this week MUCH more interesting.

Taylor's first song I don't think was anything special at all. Didn't show us anything from him that we haven't seen before, didn't show much range or vocal ability, and the performance was just decent. He lost notes during some of his more difficult dance steps and things like that. The second song was great. The arrangement was weak at the end but his performance was flawless.

Chris did nothing at all tonight. Two performances with nothing new or exciting, no intensity or anything. Again, makes the voting very interesting. But I have to say, I highly doubt he would be voted off based on one bad night. He'd have to do something Pickleresque to pull that off.

Katherine's first song was absolutely incredible, maybe the best of the night. Elliott's were really good but that first one may have been better. The second song had a horrible arrangement, it was much too overtop for that kind of song. Nonetheless, 3/4 of the way through the song I couldn't help falling in lover with her. After the weak ending, I could help it again.

I think Katherine is the favorite to get voted off. If not her, then Chris. Then Elliott and then of course Taylor. Really, I have no clue at all. I think Chris deserves to go though, his act is getting really tiresome.

I thought they were all excellent and they should suspend the rules and keep all four of them for one more week. Even though Elliott's voice lacks character and depth.

I felt really bad for Randy Johnson, though. He just couldn't get it together tonight and the ending was really bad. I felt bad for E-Rod, too. I bet John Damon is having fun playing in New York with Randy and Arod. And Hideki. Lotta camaraderie there.

Don't they allow women and children in Yankee Stadium?

Do you haveta wear a suit to sit behind home plate? What a different bunch than at Fenway, eh? It's like a row of bankers or Republicans or something.

We can't get the NESN feed, but I don't mind listening to the Yankee announcers. I especially like Michael Kay. They all were very, very hard on Randy J. Poor Randy.

I missed most of last night's episode ( a repeat of last week's America's NExt Top Model was on, which I missed, and well, its very important).
I saw Katherine's first performance, which I loved! I didn't agree with Simon at all, for once. I saw Taylor's first performance, which was all right, but nothing we haven't seen before. I saw Chris's first and second. I loved the first, hated the second. I didn't see any Elliot! Which is too bad. Cause I love that troll man.

My bet is that Katherine or Elliot will go home tonight. I'm not really sure who it is that DESERVES to go home though. What does DialIdol say?

Dial Idol says Chris!! or Katharine. It has them pretty much tied, and Taylor and Elliott well above them, also pretty much tied.

I'm impressed -- you as a group saw a good chance of Chris leaving -- but every one on the tv news this a.m. was shocked -- they should consult the Murphy blog in the future!
