Deion Branch, whose 4-year-old son, Deiondre, nearly died after a bout with meningitis shortly after birth, has helped raise money for the Meningitis Foundation of America.
''Football is important, very important, it's what I do, but for me its importance is in how it's given me the opportunity to give something to others," Branch said.
''What you give and the type of person you are is more important than how many touchdowns you score. I want to be remembered for more than football."
