A funny comment from another blog about camping near bears:

"The Park Service says just attach small bells to your shoes to warn the bears you are in their territory. You will know when to do this because you'll see bear spoor with little bells in it."

Luke's a Nuke!

Luke had his interviews today in Washington (including one with a 4-star Admiral) to become a Naval Reactors Engineer -- and he made it! This is quite an honor and hotly competed-for among the best of the Navy's engineers. It means that he'll be living in Washington, D.C. and working at the headquarters of the Navy's nuclear reactors program for most of his Navy tour. Congratulations, Luke -- we're proud of you!

We did get a couple of favorite-post nominations. Laura likes Dad's Valentine's Day posts. (So do I.) And Luke likes Stuff on our Dog.


How could you not?

This blog has been a kind of substitute family hearth as we've spread out farther and farther away from the real one. It gets harder to keep it up as everyone gets deeper into their Real Lives. But let's not stop, okay?
