Seriously. Tonight. 8:07. Be here. Or I'll be really mad.
Who stayed up for the comeback? Who went to sleep? I'll admit that I fell asleep, even after David Ortiz's homerun. I was trying to stay awake. Gameday just isn't captivating enough. I came in and out of consciousness until 2 am when I woke up and found IMs from my brothers telling me to wake up. Oops. I really feel crappy about it. I also went to bed on Wednesday before finding out the result of the Phillies vs. Dodgers. I woke up at 11:45 and thought people were dying in the streets. Turns out that what I thought were gunshots were actually fireworks, and the screaming was in celebration, not pain. Thank God Manny isn't going to the World Series.
Also, I HATE that the playoffs are on TBS. You'd think they would at least put the playoffs on a channel most people get.

Even whem it was 7-0, I was saying, "We got 'em right where we want 'em".
One of the downsides of the surge in popularity of the RS is the legion of "fans" who would leave the ballpark after paying several hundred dollars for tickets just because the RS were behind 7-0, and the fans who would boo Jason varitek because he struck out again. Creeps.
When.
, ,
You won't hear me booing anybody, but I did give up on them. I should have known better. At 7-0 I turned the game off, IMed Laura that I was done, and got ready for bed. I came back 10 minutes later just to make sure, and whaddya know, it's 7-4. I turned the game back on about 10 seconds before Drew went deep.
It was an absolutely amazing game.
I don't think I'll be able to be around tonight, Laura, but we'll see.
I can definitely understand turning the game off at 7-0, but I can't understand leaving the ballpark. You paid big money for the game, and if the Sox lost, it would've been the final game of a great season. Stick around and give them a standing ovation at the end, right?
BTW I didn't turn the game off, but it was more because I was going to be up all night doing homework anyway. Otherwise I might have gone to bed. I really get used to the DVR when I'm home.
does anybody know what the heck is going on with the game? We were watching the pre-game on TBS and suddenly it went away, to be replaced by some Bloopers show. no game. WTF??
Wow. What?
I'm watching it online.
Quite a few people online are talking about TBS showing the Steve Harvey show. Is that what you guys are seeing?
Power outage for TBS!
We now have my car parked outside the family room window with the XM radio on, listening to it. They say TBS is having problems in Atlanta. And we are trying to watch it on MLB.

Ah, nevermind.
Like I said, terrible idea to put the playoffs on TBS.
No kidding. Bet they never do it again. After half an hour they finally ran a short little banner to say they're having technical difficulties , which apparently they don't know how to fix.
OK, now apparently it's fixed.
Phew.
Well. They apologize profusely.
YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
YOOOUUUUU----Oh, damnit Laura!
It ran for half an hour with no explanation.
YyyyyyyyyyyyyyOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!
Does mom know that she's game threading on the wrong post? Haha.
DREEWWWW. awww so close.
I wish we could make this thread refresh automatically.
see now Luke just laughs at me. Meanwhile Laura goes and gets me and brings me back here. I can tell who's on my side and who's not!
Luke Murphy. Just in case we confused him with the other Lukes?
Hmmm Tropicana Field has some interesting choices in music.
Oh hey Big Papi
OK 2-1.
Mom and Dad are you live?
we're a few minutes behind. 4 to 5 minutes I guess. Uh oh there's something we don't know. But just say what you want to say, Dad is not feeling well and doesn't have his computer open, and I can handle it.
Oh no, there isn't anything, I just wanted to be aware.
Tell Dad hope he feels better.
People on boston.com are calling for Bud Selig to put Game 7 on Fox. I mean, if there is a Game 7. If only he could actually do that.
Dad says thanks.
Whats going on right now? I was making dinner. Is the umpire injured?
Pretend I'm Obi-Wan Kanobi.
There will be a game 7.
Yes, he got hit with a foul ball off Varitek's bat -- it popped over the catcher and caught him in the chest. New umpire at home plate apparently.
At least TBS gets a chance to run all those ads they didn't run during the outage. TBS...not very funny.
You better be right, Obi Wan.
Oooh nice Kotsay.
Kotsay is fun to say.
KOTsaaaaaaaaaay.
Kotsay
Notsay
What say?
Kotsay rub your belly and pat your head.
Ah ha! Gotcha!
uh oh.
WHO IS BOOING VARITEK NOW?! HUH? HUH?!
not anybody in this house!!
Papi!!!
Thats why they call him Big Papi.
OK bedtime! Who'll open the thread tomorrow night?
Obi Wan, you did well!
You're lucky Obi Wan.
Bed time at last.
Laura did this thread, Laura does tomorrow night's thread.
I should be here to enjoy it, unless I drag Laura out to a sports bar or something.
Geez I gosta do everything. Make the thread. Carry the thread. Do it again!
Well, if you drag Laura out to a sports bar, BRING HER LAPTOP ALONG.
Bars? BARS?
I don't go to bars. Geez.
