Lugo just made his NINTH error of the season. Can he hit fifty?
OTOH, didja see Manny throw out Pena at the plate last night? WOW! And he was SO pleased with himself. Manny's new persona is fun to watch. For that matter, the whole team, Lugo aside, is fun to watch. I'm glad that we have Ellsbury AND Coco.

I'm really enjoying watching the Sox right now. Ellsbury/Pedroia is even better than Pedroia/Youkilis. While I'm happy having Coco on the team for now, I hope he's traded this summer for a good reliever, a catching prospect, or in some kind of deal for a new shortstop. I have a feeling we're stuck with Lugo until the end of his contract, but there aren't many guys I wouldn't give up in exchange for someone at shortstop who can actually hit.

We were confused at first by the coincidence of names (or are spam-bots smart enough now to harvest actual commenters' names from the blogs they infest??) The interesting thing is that the spambot apparently manages to leave its comments without actually visiting the blog. SiteMeter shows that Dad and I were the only visitors to the blog at the time the comment was left.
That's the first comment spam we've received since I took off comment verification. Hope it doesn't signal a trend.
