I was just about to post this. If he's gonna miss a significant part of the season, I hope he just retires. Not sure what that would mean for his new contract, but why NOT retire at 42 just after winning a World Series?
I really haven't been following any of this stuff lately. What other starters/potential starters do we have right now? Lester Bucholz Dice-K Wakefield and Beckett?
The impression I get is that there isn't a team out there that's looking to take on Julio Lugo's contract in exchange for a starting pitcher, who would probably cost less than Lugo before you even throw Coco in. It's gotta be a young'un.

How about Coco and Lugo? I hear Lowrie can play short.
