An Objective Foreign Policy

Here.

A couple years outdated, but still very pertinent. It surprised me to find that objectivists are actually MORE militant than neo-cons and Republicans. Reading this reminded me of Jack Bauer. Anyone remember the 24 episode when Jack was at some super-evil guy's house trying to get information, and the guy wouldn't give in, so Jack threatened to shoot his wife in the knee, and the guy still wouldn't give in? Jack Bauer, of course, being Jack Bauer, shot the wife in the knee. In that scenario, Jack's action is justifiable because his job is to save American lives. All of the moral responsibility for the wife's damaged knee rests on her super-evil husband, not on Jack.

Anyway I'm not entirely sold on this stuff, but it makes a lot more sense than most of everything else out there.

Anybody know if 24 is gonna come back on soon?

24 will be back...in 11 months.

And I'm pretty sure you just described every episode of 24, ever.

More, tomorrow.

24 was going to be climate-change sensitive this year.

Now it's gonna be climate change sensitive NEXT year.

I think 24 not being on is as climate-change sensitive as it can get.

I'm still working my way through this, Luke. In the meantime, who said the following recently:

"We have a war against al Qaeda and the Taliban who attacked us. And the masterminds of that attack are still at large. And we're not winning, and I don't think we can let that situation continue. We have to put our best resources in against those who attacked the United States. No one can attack us with impunity. They have to be brought to justice, and that means wiping them out, because until we do, we will remain at risk."

Heh heh, interesting. Still, I'd prefer a capitalist who doesn't understand the importance of fighting Islamic totalitarianism, than a socialist who does. Unfortunately there won't be any true capitalists in this election.
