Seen this?

The letter that the Sox sent Schilling on Thanksgiving in 2003, a couple hours before Theo and Co. showed up to negotiate with him. Very interesting read.

An artful, yet apparently sincere letter. The rise of the Red Sox is astonishing. Credit must go to the owners and management. Their successes have far outweighed their mistakes. ReD Sox fans are now legion. Praise only to those who can make something where there was nothing.

But. I miss being the underdog, and part of a ragtag band of followers rather than a trumped up mass movement like Red Sox Nation. A good example of be careful what you wish for. It hadn't occurred to me that Sox Appeal would come along with ending the 86 year old drought.

Ah, well.
