At work in Cooperstown. His youngest son plays for the Texas Longhorns who came to play at the Dreams Park this week. I drove a golfcart pasy the field they were playing on and looked in the door and there he was sitting there watching the game. I turned around a couple times and drove by again to double check and it was definitely him. Another guy I work with got to drive him around the park personally, but he's the owner's grandson so I suppose that makes sense.

I saw Jered Wright, Vlad Guererro, Frank Thomas, Nick Swisher, and Frankie Rodriguez tonight. You still win.

Anyway, I was at the A's/Angels game in Oakland last night. Pretty good game, towards the end. The Angels have a young CF named Tommy Murphy, who isn't much with the bat but made a great catch against the wall in deep center and later made a great diving catch and then rose to throw out Frank Thomas, who had advanced too far off of first base. Impressive stuff, with an impressive name.

Albeit a very common one. Tom Murphy was president of General Motors a couple decades ago, for one.

Speaking of baseball, is there anything more distressing than having to listen to the two assholes who are the CWS TV announcers? OMIGOD! Cheerleading! Whining about the umpires! I"ve never heard anything like it. I now hate the WS as much as I hate the Yankees. At least the Yankees have reasonable broadcasters.

STAY FAIR! STAY FAIR! STAY FAIR! You can PUT IT ON THE BOOOOOOAAARD! YES!

Yeah Dad those guys are a couple of creeps.

Caleb I did see that catch it was great. You're going to the Red Sox games this weekend right?

No, I'm going to the series of games at the end of July.

The best part of the CWS announcing yesterday was when Jermaine Dye missed the tag on third on Trot's catch, and the announcer was screaming:

"GET BACK, JERMAINE, GET BACK!!"

Honestly, they sound like a couple of junior high schoolers rooting for their team. The whole strike zone thing was absurd.

Isn't one of them ken Harrelson and didn't he play for the RS way back when? Yes, see:
