"This is bull."
"Why didn't they call for volunteers when they knew this was going to hit?" grumbled Irene Makris, who waited in line but was told to drive to a station in another part of Houston, closer to her neighborhood. "This is bull."
I may be a heartless bastard, but why the hell didn't Irene Makris get out of Houston "when they knew this was going to hit," rather than staying put and then expecting the federal government and volunteers to feed her?

"Mickey Must Die!"
They came first for the mice,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a mouse....
What a very silly old man.

September 11th
Well it's September 11th, and I figured somebody ought to post something. Seven years ago today a bunch of backward cave-dwelling savage mystics used planes that they never could have built themselves, planes that were products of a society in which man has a right to exist for his own sake, to kill 3000 Americans and bring down two of the greatest structures man has ever built. The victims were killed not for their flaws, but for their greatest virtues. This is true of both the men and women at work in the WTC and of the countless firefighters and rescue workers who died trying to save them.
Anyway, here are a couple of my favorite patriotic YouTube videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkSXqFUtKD4&watch_response
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQQL4m7Ka7A
You will certainly never see anything like that Whitney Houston performance in any Muslim country.
Contrast Osama Bin Laden's words...
“We love death. The US loves life. That is the difference between us two.”
...with those of the architect who designed the WTC, Minoru Yamasaki:
"The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace... a representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his beliefs in the cooperation of men, and, through cooperation, his ability to find greatness."

Some great images in this video, but I wish they had left out the last 40 seconds.

Obama Sez
"...you know Sarah Palin is an interesting story.” The crowd booed. “No, she’s new!” Obama said. “She hasn’t been on the scene, you know, she’s got five kids and my hat goes off to anybody who’s looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out!"
Poor guy's pooped. No wonder he voted "present" so often. Palin doesn't appear to be tired out.
"You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig.... You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
Is Palin the pig and McCain the old fish? Who knows? But ol' Barack has lost his Mojo. Panic time for the party of grievance and envy.

More loonies
Here.
She actually does a good job of convincing me that there must be something in her water supply, but not for the reason she thinks.

On A Prettier Note...
I haven't been able to stop listening to this all weekend. I'm not any expert, but it seems to me that Chopin gets overlooked in comparison to some of the bigger names from the romantic era. This is a 10 minutes of music that you will just never want to end. The whole concerto can be found if you look around a bit, and it's definitely worth listening to, but this 2nd movement is the best part.
As 4evaFanFuruba says, "Its feels so colourful, butterflies flying around..just beautiful!!" Hehehe.

You Can't Make This Stuff Up
Oh. My. God.
Okay lady, I will gladly give you your wish. Let's take you and all of your friends to that "cathedral," without the technology and industry built by far better men then yourselves, and let's see how long you last. Fine by me!
Lost your identity you say? Somehow, I doubt that you ever had one.
