Murphy and Murphy Builders

Heat!

Update: Enlarge this photo and look at all those parts and pieces and wires and tubes. Dad did every bit of every one of them, wiring, plumbing, fastening, testing, rethinking, repairing, thinking again, making it work. He's been working on it for weeks, and as a result, the house is now toasty warm and so is the water, in a much more efficient and sensible system than what we had before. Those four green doohickeys to the right of the boiler are circulators, making zones: basement, first floor, second floor, hot water.  Off to the right where you can't see them are the hot water heater and the sump pump, also entirely tamed and tailored by Dad. What's more, Dad made Culligan keep coming back until the new water system now actually works and we have fresh, clear, tannin-free, iron-free, tasty water. He's a whirlwind!
Yes, that's Mom. With a Sawzall.
That's Mom, too!  (:
Chaos.
Stairs.
Buh-bye, carpet.

That's pretty cool! Is the last photo a new closet?

Dad said...

It's an existing closet, which we are likely to keep. There will be another closet between the camera and the existing closet. We will have closets. Lots of 'em. And a refrigerator. And some windows.

What about floors?

Dad said...

No floors. Floors are passe. Instead, we will have horizontal sub-podiatric surfaces. And ceilings to beat the band. And a dumbwaiter.
