My Uncle Tom

lived a remarkable life of service to his principles and his Catholic faith. He was a father, a husband, a lawyer, a legislator, the first and only Democrat to serve as County Executive of Monroe County (as far as I know), a Regent of the State of New York, an assistant to Governor Hugh Carey, and more that I can't recall. And after all the titles went away, he went right on using his time working for the causes he believed in - most of which had to do with improving the City of Rochester - for all the time he could. He lived the kind of life that makes a person hope to live as well as he did, and that's a hell of a legacy to leave.
