A letter to my mother from Jayne Mansfield
Here's her sad biography. It explains that Ottaviano was the last name of her third husband. It's a little hard to tell from these pictures, but the letter and envelope are pink, which was apparently her signature color.
Yes. At that time my mother was raising and selling bloodhound puppies. I don't know whether she met Jayne Mansfield somewhere - maybe at a dog show? - or whether somebody somehow put them in touch, but Mansfield had been looking for a dog to buy and somehow connected with my mother.
