Polaroid TV. Don't buy one.

Or anything Polaroid, for that matter. They won't send anyone out to service it after it breaks. More later, I wanted to get this up.

And for anyone who already does have a Polaroid TV, don't try to plug your computer into it.

If you Google "Don't buy Polaroid TVs" or "Don't purchase Polaroid TVs" you will find accounts of many other things one mustn't do with Polaroid TVs, such as turning them on or watching them. There are descriptions out there of TVs conking out 12 hours after being purchased, the sound going out, the picture scrambling, any number of things -- followed in every case by the same customer service we got (or didn't get), only worse.

It appears that they aren't actually even Polaroid any more. Polaroid went bankrupt and sold its name. Some other company bought the name and uses it to sell junky electronics. They're profiting on Polaroid's old reputation for innovation and quality -- but that won't last much longer.

Is this the tv you had when we were there on T'giving, or did you buy this since that long ago time?

This was the same TV you saw at Thanksgiving, bought last May.

In today's SiteMeter count there's a hit from some poor soul in Canada who googled "Where to buy Polaroid TVs." "DON'T DO IT!" all the Murphies scream in unison. But fortunately, their search brought them here, so with any luck, they learned what not to do.
