Barbaro at the New Bolton Center

Here's an interesting article about his care, with some great pictures of the Penn. New Bolton Center. Caleb, you can finally get a glimpse of the place!

Cool stuff. I've seen Dr. Richardson on campus a couple of times, but only one of them was notable. We were all assembled for a review session before our Developmental Biology exam, and he snuck in the back and listened to the last five minutes. Over-anxious (and rather annoying) students asked question after question about whether or not certain trivial aspects of the embryo would be on the exam, and he finally stood up and lectured us on worrying too much about what we will and won't be tested on and not enough on learning as much as we can so that we can be good veterinarians. As all the students muttered angrily ("we can't be veterinarians at all without passing the test first!" "then why are you teaching us this crap?"), he glared at us and sat down laughing to himself.
